|Oh, these two! Mallarie and Zach were so fun to photograph as they danced around their engagement session with the best light possible! Lighting will absolutely make or break a session, and I’m so glad the sun was showing off for us this day! Just as important as lighting, the outfits couples choose play a big part in the overall feel of the photos, too. Bold colors look striking or dramatic. Meanwhile, softer, natural colors lend themselves more toward romantic, light, and airy photos. Mallarie and Zach wanted a romantic shoot with classic photos that focused primarily on their relationship and the love they share. They nailed it! The beautiful light, along with their soft colored outfits, really gave the most intimate feel for the day! Their engagement photos are such a genuine representation of who they are as a couple.|
Both of them enjoy the outdoors, so we found a quiet part of the park with lots of trees where they could really relax and be themselves. I asked them to mostly ignore me while they walked around, chatted, and just spent some time being together. They shared a few inside jokes and laughter, and I discreetly captured the moments as they came. They’re both so warmhearted and easygoing, and they had no trouble posing for me during the more formal portraits.
Engagement photos are great for save the dates, wedding décor, wall art, or personal albums, so I like to give couples a wide variety of candids and gently posed shots. While some photographers put more focus on the actually wedding images, I give equal priority to engagement photos because this is where to story begins! They should all come together beautifully to document the journey start to finish – and beyond! I believe couples should enjoy their engagement photos for years to come.
Congratulations, Mallarie and Zach!
